Reverend Michael J. Jordan the youngest of four sons was born on February 20, 1962 to the late Deacon James L. and Deaconess Willie Lee Jordan in Newark, New Jersey.

Reverend Jordan accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal saviour in March of 1970 at the age of eight, under the leadership of the Reverend John L. McClain. Growing up in the Grace Temple Baptist Church, he went through the ranks of the church: serving on the Trustee Ministry and later becoming an ordained Deacon at the age of eighteen.

Accepting that the Lord had more work for him to do, Reverend Jordan accepted his call to preach the gospel in the spring of 1985. He preached his first sermon on Sunday, July 7, 1985. He received further education at Northern Bible Institute in Essex Fells, New Jersey; Rankin’s Theological Clinic in Newark, New Jersey, and New York Theological Seminary in New York, New York.

A True Servant Leader

Rev. Michael J. Jordan Called to Serve

Rev. Jordan was ordained by the Christian Fellowship Missionary Baptist Association on February 12, 1989.

In January 1990, Reverend Jordan was called to Pastor the Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Englewood, New Jersey. After leaving Mt. Calvary, he organized and pastored the Genesis Community Baptist Church in Englewood, NJ, and later pastored the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Englewood, NJ.

Currently, the pastor of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church of East Orange, Rev. Jordan continues to do God’s work. His ‘down-home’ style of preaching and singing has him in constant demand throughout the area. The Mt. Olive church has been blessed in many ways by Rev. Jordan’s leadership, and has experienced tremendous spiritual growth, as well as the establishment of new ministries to enhance God’s Kingdom building.

Reverend Jordan is married to the former Harriet Mervin, and the Jordans are blessed with four children: Raushanah, Justin, Jessica, and Joy.

To God be the Glory!
